□ Announce seat belt statistics, seat belt facts and the Save Your TAIL-Gate, Buckle Up information during school announcements. Make up your own or use the ones enclosed in this packet.

□ Make table tent cards for the school cafeteria.

□ E-mail students asking them to buckle up.

□ Ask teachers to write buckle up reminders on their chalkboards/whiteboards.

□ Design the school bulletin board around a safety belt theme.

□ Include information about the campaign and seat belts in your school newspaper.

□ Make flyers reminding students to buckle up and distribute at school.

□ Place a reminder about the campaign on the school Marquee.

□ Announce the campaign at half-time of home football games and encourage everyone to buckle up.

□ Set up a buckle up for safety table at a home football game.

□ Make a large seat belt for your school mascot to wear at home football games.

□ Insert a seat belt flyer in the football programs for each home game.

□ Ask your local radio stations and hometown newspapers to promote your schools participation in the Save Your TAIL-Gate, Buckle Up Challenge and ask them to run information about seat belts. Coverage earns you 50 points!

□ Hand out Dum Dum Suckers with Dont Be a Dum Dum, Buckle-Up label to the students or Smarties with Be a Smartie, Buckle-Up label to the students.

□ Make a large thermometer on poster board to measure the progress of your campaign. Each week, color in the percentage of students who have signed the seat belt pledge.

□ Enter names of students who sign the pledge in weekly drawings for prizes.

□ Have a ghost out day to show the number of teens killed who were not buckled up. Black shirts can be borrowed from YOVASO or make your own and earn an extra 25 points!!

□ Design a Face Book or MySpace Page that promotes the campaign and seat belt use.

□ Organize a white out at a home football game where students and other fans are encouraged to wear white to show that they always buckle up.

□ Be creative, have fun and come up with your own ideas.
