Free Resource Materials:

Just log onto the YOVASO website or call headquarters to order materials to help support your programs. Brochures, key chains, stickers, pens, balloons and other specialty items may be ordered at no cost.

Fun & Easy Campaigns:

YOVASO will provide your school with 3 simple campaigns plus the accompanying materials to make it easy for you to implement safety activities. The campaigns occur in the fall, winter and spring. They include:

1. Save Your TAIL-Gate Buckle Up Challenge:

 Kick off the school year with this fun and exciting contest where high schools promote seat belt use during the school day and at home football games. The school with the most activities, most creative ideas and most pledge card signatures will win a surprise "tail-gate" celebration at one of its home football games. The fun-filled evening includes free food, music, activities and prizes. YOVASO provides everything you need to participate.

2. Buckle Up Drive Sober (BUDS) Challenge:

This creative YOVASO contest gives your club the opportunity to design something new for the entire YOVASO Organization while promoting traffic safety. It may be a new t-shirt design, a new campaign idea, or a new slogan. The winning school receives free t-shirts for the club .

3. Spring/ Summer Safe Driving Campaign:

  This campaign focuses on the risky behaviors of teen drivers and the high risk spring/ summer driving season. Programs for prom, graduation, beach week, and summer break are included. The campaign is held in May and coincides with National Youth Traffic Safety Month and the opportunity to compete for National recognition.

Erie Insurance Lookin' Out Program:

Through YOVASO, your school is eligible to receive up to $2,000 in grant funds each year from Erie Insurance to help cover project costs! Erie Insurance also offers the "Lookin' Out Safety Bug." Bring this custom-engineered Volkswagen Beetle to your school and watch in awe as students experience first-hand the loss of control when driving impaired. In addition, Erie holds a yearly Lookin' Out Public Service Announcement Contest. Create a catchy PSA about safe teen driving and your club could have its message aired on a variety of media.

Vince & Larry and Snap Dragon Costumes:

These colorful characters livin' up any safety campaign and may be rented from YOVASO at no cost.

FREE Banners:

Need a sign or banner to promote YOVASO in your school, or to let everyone know about your special event? No sweat! Just send us your design, or if you are creatively challenged, tell us what you have in mind and we'll get our talented staff of interns to create a special banner just for your school. The banners can be hung indoors or out, and you have the option of including grommets for easy hanging and lamination for weatherproofing.

YOVASO Retreats:

These fun-filled events are always sure to please with specialized activities that go above and beyond regular YOVASO training. Students attend the camp-like event where they get a chance to network with students from other schools, get more advanced traffic safety training, obtain new ideas to take back to their schools, and have a lot of fun .

National and State Conferences:

YOVASO participates in a variety of national and state conferences. Opportunities exist for YOVASO students to be a part of such conferences as ACTS and LifeSavers.

Activities & Resource Guides:

These step-by-step guides includes detailed project descriptions, such as a Mock Crash Assembly; sample PSAs and press releases, parade guides, elementary school project ideas, action plan checklists, funding and resource ideas, survey forms and everything else you need to be successful.

Our administrative staff, interns, and regional trainers are available to help you every step of the way in forming your club, planning your projects, finding materials, and whatever else you may need. Our job is to help you be successful!
